Packing and Praying for Peru

Time sure has flown by with only 2 weeks left until we step foot on an airplane and fly to the opposite side of the equator and land in Peru.  Our second year of PT school has come to a close with finals, assignments, grades and white coats galore.  While we were busy finishing classes, we were busy collecting donations to send to MMI.  We had 3-4 packed car-loads total (over the course of last few months) of donations, including walkers, crutches, canes, kids toys, and vitamins to just name a few.  Thank you to everyone who took the time to collect items and bring them to the PT building or for sending through SRU faculty or our team.  The people these items will go to will be forever grateful and truly touched.
We have begun our lists and packing plans have been established, if not started.  It is so easy to get caught up in the planning and packing or life in general.  So, Heidi had an idea.  Over the past few weeks, each of us has taken one day out of the week to pray for our trip.  1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, "pray without ceasing".  Philippians 4:6-7 states, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus".  Please consider taking a day, or even two days, per week to pray for our trip.  Anything from the plane rides and arriving on time through customs with all of our luggage to the little Peruvian lady in need of a wheelchair, but most importantly God's love, to the health of each member on the team are in need of prayer.  Thank you so much for the prayers that have already been lifted up.  We have all been blessed greatly through the outpouring of encouragement, love and support to see this trip happen.
We will be back to the blog at the start of our trip.  Check back to keep in touch on what God has planned in Peru.
