Today was a large prep day, but not until after a lovely
church service and a lil education session on how to raise chickens. To back up a tad, right after breakfast Chris
came up to the kitchen and asked if anyone knew how to raise chickens. I sent out Sam (my brother) and when we came
out to leave for church, both Sam & Chris were in the chicken pen…Sam
educating a local about raising chickens and Chris giving them each well-thought
out individualized names, haha. We
attended church with Jodee and made up a very white corner of the church but
had a very special treat of someone from the church translating for us! It was so great worshipping jointly in 2
separate languages; we all serve the same God!
After church we headed straight to a local school for the blind where we
will be holding the 2 week physical therapy clinic. We all divided and conquered setting up the
clinic with all of its supplies and donations.
Missy and Mary started by organizing all the clinic rooms and washing
toys for the pediatric treatments. Sam
& Chris got the manly-men job of figuring out a tent with no directions. Courtney & Nora starting washing ALL 178
of the wheelchairs. I (Becca)
conveniently got the job of finding missing legs and parts for the wheelchairs,
haha. Luckily I’m at expert at
mismatched legs ;-) We also organized
all the donations and divvied up vitamins and pain meds to hand out to
patients. Once done, Chris went out back
and thoughtfully named both heifers and most of the sheep…once he found out
they were in fact all sheep and there wasn’t a pig hidden in there.
Starting tomorrow we will finally be working in the clinic
with a full patient caseload all lined up and we are excited!! Please be
praying for all the patients we will meet and that we will be used by God to
serve them in all of their needs, both physical and spiritual!!
Becca
